Assessments

System of Assessment

In place of the traditional report cards, Family School uses an alternative method of assessment that includes:

Goal Project Report:

Students work toward three goals based on their needs: one in ELA, one in math, and one as a teacher's choice. Teachers develop personalized strategies to enable the student to reach their goals.

Self Assessment:

Student-developed portfolio and presentation about themselves as learners. Emphasis on literacy and math progress.

Performance Portfolio:

Completed toward end of the year as a final assessment. Students and parents design, create, and show projects to demonstrate academic gains for the year.
